23年経った今も、私がジェーン・アイルデールを愛し続ける理由
23年以上にわたり、日本におけるジェーン・アイルデールの販売代理店を務めてきましたが、今でも私はこの会社を心から素晴らしいと思っています。
振り返れば、これまで幾度となく困難な時期がありました。そのたびにジェーン・アイルデールは私を支え、いつも一緒に歩んでくれました。私がこのブランドを愛している理由は、製品だけではありません。そこにいる「人」、そしてブランドが誕生した当初から変わることなく大切にしてきた考え方に、私はずっと共感しています。
メイクアップは、肌に負担をかけるものではなく、一人一人が持つ肌本来の美しさを引き立てるものであること。
ずいぶん前のことですが、私は本気で「大きな会社であっても、小さな会社であっても、オリジナルのリキッドミネラル以上に私が好きになれるファンデーションを作ることはできない」と思っていました。ところが、その後に誕生したハイドロピュアは、驚くことにさらに素晴らしいものでした。
そしてここ数年も、新しい製品が登場するたびに、感銘を受けています。そのひとつが、 グローフィクセーション SPF40/PA+++です。
グローフィクセーションは、私がこれまでイメージしていた「日焼け止め」とは全く違います。肌につけていることを忘れるほど軽やかで、紫外線から肌を守りながら、健康的で美しいツヤを与えてくれます。ナチュラルに仕上げたい日はこれひとつでもOK。単品でベースとして使ってもいいですし、普段愛用しているジェーン・アイルデールのベースメイクアイテムと重ねて使うこともできます。
私は、 ピュアプレストベース ミネラルファンデーション SPF20/PA++、 ピュアマッチ リキッドコンシーラーを組み合わせて使っています。特に気に入っているのは、肌につけたときの心地よさです。スクワランやナイアシンアミドなど、肌を整える成分も配合されているので、うるおいを与え、酸化ケアもできるのです。
紫外線ダメージの対策としては、 グローフィクセーションと ninoBEAUTY プロテキシダインディフェンスを組み合わせています。紫外線による肌表面への影響だけでなく、UVによって引き起こされる細胞レベルのダメージにも目を向けた、私なりの肌を守るための習慣です。
そしてもうひとつ、グローフィクセーションの素晴らしいところは、シェードの使いやすさです。一般的なファンデーションとは違い、ほんのり色づくシアーティントなので、ひとつのシェードが幅広い肌色になじみます。
日本人の肌には、フェアーライト（Fair to Light）またはミディアムライト（Light to Light Midium）が自然になじむ方が多いと思います。私はどちらも使えます。その上からジェーン・アイルデールのファンデーションを重ねることで、ご自身の肌色に合わせてより美しく仕上げることができます。
これも私がジェーン・アイルデールを大好きな理由のひとつです。複数の製品を組み合わせても、本当に美しく仕上がるのです。
先日、スタッフの山田さんが グローフィクセーション SPF40/PA+++と スキントゥイション SPF30/PA+++を組み合わせて使っていましたが、その仕上がりがとても素敵でした。紫外線から肌を守りながら自然にカバーし、美しいツヤもプラスする。それぞれの良さが、肌の上で自然に溶け合っていました。
23年以上経った今でも、ジェーン・アイルデールから新しい製品が登場するとワクワクします。肌を大切にしながら、女性も男性も、その人らしく自然に美しく見せてくれる製品を作り続けている。だから私は、このブランドが大好きなのです。
そして、私が「メイクアップとはこうあるべき」と思う気持ちはずっと何ひとつ変わっていません。
Why I still Love Jane Iredale after 23 years
I have been the distributor for jane iredale in Japan for more than 23 years, and after all this time, I still think the world of this company.
Over the years, jane iredale has helped me through crisis after crisis and has supported me every step of the way. But what I really love about the brand is not only the products—it is the people behind them and the philosophy that has remained consistent from the beginning: makeup should enhance the beauty of the skin, not compromise it.
Years ago, I honestly thought that no cosmetics company—large or small—could ever create a foundation I liked better than our original Liquid Minerals.
Then they created HydroPure, and somehow, they made it even better.
And in recent years, new product after new product has continued to impress me. Which brings me to one of their newest innovations: Glow Fixation SPF 40 PA+++ Sheer Tint Skin Enhancer.
Glow Fixation is much more than what I normally think of as a sunscreen. It is incredibly light on the skin and gives a beautiful, healthy glow while providing SPF protection. You can wear it alone for a natural finish, use it as your base, or layer it with any of the jane iredale complexion products you already love.
Personally, I wear it with Pure Pressed Powder Foundation and PureMatch Concealer.
What I particularly like is the way it feels on my skin. It is formulated with skin-conditioning ingredients including squalane and niacinamide, so while I am protecting my skin from UV exposure, I am also giving my skin hydration and antioxidant support.
In my own routine, I combine Glow Fixation with ninoBeauty Protexidine Defense as part of my approach to protecting the skin from both the surface effects of sun exposure and the cellular damage associated with UV.
Another wonderful feature of Glow Fixation is how versatile the shades are. Because this is a sheer tint rather than a traditional foundation, one shade can work beautifully across a range of skin tones.
For many Japanese complexions, Fair to Light or Light to Light Medium blend very naturally. I can actually wear both. Your exact skin tone can then be perfected with the jane iredale foundation you layer over it.
And that is one of the things I love most about jane iredale: the products continue to work beautifully together.
The other day, Yamada-san combined Glow Fixation with Skintuition, and the result was wonderful—sun protection, complexion coverage and glow blended together seamlessly.
After more than 23 years, I still get excited when jane iredale introduces something new.
I love this brand because it continues to create products that are good to the skin while helping women—and men—look naturally more beautiful.
And after all these years, that is still exactly what I believe makeup should do.
