幼い頃、そして青春時代をたどるステージ。〜ダイアナ・ロス来日公演〜
昨夜は、まるで過去へ時間をたどる旅をしているような気持ちでした。
ステージに立つダイアナ・ロスは華やかで輝きに満ち、圧倒的な存在感そのもの。
その姿を見ながら、なぜ彼女の音楽がこれほど長く多くの人に愛され続けているのかを改めて感じていました。
コンサートは美しい衣装、素晴らしいミュージシャンたち、そして楽しい日本のダンスグループの演出も加わり、会場全体がどこか懐かしく、幸福感に包まれていました。
気づけば子どもの頃、ポートランドで初めてThe Supremesを見た日のことを思い出していました。
それはコンサートではなく、モーターショーでのステージ。幼い私にとって、まるで魔法のような時間でした。
弟、妹と一緒に、小さな円形ステージのすぐそばに立ち、夢中で見入っていました。ダイアナ・ロスをあんなに近くで見たことは、今でも鮮明な記憶です。
アメリカで育った私にとって、Motownは青春時代そのもののサウンドトラックのような存在でした。
The Supremesの曲が流れるたびにたくさんの記憶がよみがえり、歌詞を口ずさんでいました。
そして、とても特別な瞬間もありました。
「If We Hold On Together」で、Yoshikiがピアノで共演したのです。
それは本当に美しく、心を打たれました。Yoshikiの演奏を生で見流のは初めてだったので、なぜ多くの人が彼に魅了されるのか、その理由がよく分かった気がします。なんて素晴らしいアーティストなのでしょう。
ひとりで味わうからこそ、より深く、より純粋に心に残るコンサートがあります。
昨夜は、まさにそんな夜でした。✨
Last night felt like traveling back in time.
Watching Diana Ross on stage — glamorous, radiant, and completely magnetic — reminded me why her music has stayed with so many of us for so long. The concert was filled with beautiful costumes, incredible musicians, and even a fun Japanese dance group that made the whole evening feel joyful and nostalgic.
My mind drifted back to my very first time seeing The Supremes perform as a child in Portland. It was at an auto show, not even a real concert, but to me it felt magical. My brothers, sister, and I stood right at the edge of the small circular stage, completely mesmerized. I still remember seeing her so close.
Growing up in America, Motown was the soundtrack of my youth. Hearing those Supremes songs again brought back so many memories. I found myself singing every word.
And then a very special moment — Yoshiki joined her on piano for “If We Hold On Together.” Absolutely beautiful. I had never seen Yoshiki perform live before and now I understand why people are so captivated by him. What an artist.
Some concerts are more meaningful when experienced alone… and this was one of them. ✨
